What this policy covers. This policy explains what information this website collects, what it does not collect, and how any information a visitor chooses to give is handled. It applies to caribbeancleanup.org and handsforhondurasinc.org.
What the site itself collects. The website host records ordinary server logs and aggregate visit counts, such as pages opened and the general region a visit came from. This site runs no advertising trackers, sells no visitor data, and sets no marketing cookies of its own. An optional translation tool offered on the site is provided by Google Translate and runs under Google's own policies.
Donations. Donations are processed by Zeffy, a payment platform for nonprofits. Card numbers and bank details go to Zeffy and its payment processors only. They never reach this organization and are never stored by it. The organization receives the donor's name, email address, gift amount, and any designation the donor chose, and uses them to record the gift, honor the designation, send a receipt and thanks, and publish the count in aggregate.
Volunteer registration. A visitor who registers as a volunteer gives a name, contact details, and trip information through the registration form. That information is used only to coordinate the volunteer's participation and is never sold, rented, traded, or published.
Email. A visitor who writes to the organization, or asks for updates, gives an email address for that purpose. Addresses are used to answer and to send the updates requested. They are never sold, rented, or traded, and a sender can be removed from update lists at any time by writing to the address below.
Photographs. Photographs on this site show the organization's own work, its people, and its mascot. Field photographs of community members are published with the consent of the people shown or their community leadership.
Children. This site is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Your rights. Any person may write to the organization and ask what information it holds about them, ask for a correction, or ask for deletion. The organization answers such requests directly.
Changes. If this policy changes, the new text posts on this page with its effective date.
